At Manchester Metropolitan University, we pride ourselves on providing a warm, engaging and supportive environment for your postgraduate studies. There are four different faculties within the University: Business and Law, Arts and Humanities, Health and Education, and Science and Engineering, with more than 150 postgraduate taught programmes on offer. Job prospects

93% of our postgraduates are in work or further study 15 months after graduation (Higher Education Statistics Agency data, 2020/21 UK graduates who studied a full-time, postgraduate taught course).

Every Manchester Met student is automatically enrolled as a member of the Students’ Union, dedicated to enhancing your university experience. The Union goes beyond academic achievement, aiming to support you in all aspects of student life.

Clubs and societies

Whether you’re already engaged in sports or looking to explore new activities, you’ll find over 100 sports clubs and societies to join. There is also a range of free drop-in sports and activities across campus, including women-only sessions.

Fees, funding and costs

Scholarships/Bursaries

A range of faculty and subject-specific scholarships are available, as well as specific scholarships for international students. Our scholarship packages offer you the opportunity to enhance your experience while studying at Manchester Met. Visit our website for details of current scholarships.

Postgraduate Master’s Loan

The funding available for postgraduate study is different depending on whether you normally live in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, or Scotland.

If you’re studying a masters course, and live in England, you may be able to get a loan to help you with the cost of your tuition fees and living expenses. For up-to-date information, please visit the GOV.UK website.

For PhD, Professional Doctorate, or EdDoc students, a loan is available to help with course fees and living costs whilst you study. For up-to-date information, please visit the GOV.UK website.

Manchester Met’s research is focused on five world-transforming missions – each committed to advancing understanding of the pressing problems facing our planet and global society. They drive a better understanding of the world around us, advancing knowledge and delivering new insights.

90% of our research impact was rated as “world-leading” or “internationally excellent” in the Research Excellence Framework 2021.

Our new Doctoral College brings together and supports our doctoral community to help them grow their research and develop as research leaders of the future. You can access training, support and wider networks through our Doctoral Services team to develop yourself and your research alongside academics in your field.
