When I was contacted by averda for the recruitment event in Paris two summers ago, I had just graduated from my MBA and was temporarily working in Italy as a consultant. After completing the two days at the assessment centre, I relished the opportunity represented by such a program: a full immersion in a fast-growing group leading the waste industry throughout the MENA region.
The AcademyQuote: averda strengthens personal attitudes and enhances skills
The idea behind the academy is to leverage the diversities and blend the capabilities of the participants in order to prepare a new management team. The academy is a laboratory where averda strengthens personal attitudes and enhances skills which can be rapidly applied to the working environment.
During my first four months in Beirut, I was provided with a 360o exposure to the company's current contracts and the projects it will implement in the coming years. I have been working on projects with a small group of colleagues and presenting our findings to a company committee.
Coming from an engineering background and having accumulated experiences in different domains, I quickly joined the Business Development department in the Tendering team. I have been moved to Abu Dhabi, HQ of the department, an experience which has fully matched my expectations.
Working with ministries, local authorities and corporations, I am responsible for finding viable, attractive, and realistic solutions to fulfil and exceed customer's expectations.
I started from supporting colleagues in the proposal preparation and I moved in few months to managing the proposal submission. In my current role I'm responsible for proposing operational methodology, preparing financial modelling and presenting solutions to a wide customer base.
