Jack has finished his degree. He has recently moved to sunny Spain to pursue his career.

So here we are, almost an afterthought following the adrenaline rush, hype and hysteria of leaving Britain, I am now a cog in the Bet Victor machine. I have now been out here for roughly seven weeks, and everything is still something of a blur - it is all incredibly surreal.

The cultural differences still continue to amaze me; it is almost like being from another planet. I am used to knowing where everything is, where everyone is, and it is so strange to be living in a country where I don't know my surroundings location or the local language. Instead of everything being on long, main streets and cut offs to streets, roads and avenues, everything is in squares, like blocks in America. Small squares, that are practically all identical, which means you get lost, which happens quite frequently to a stereotypical Brit with no sense of direction.

Everything is like a Scooby Doo cartoon, with the same backgrounds and scenery being repeated again and again. Bar… shop… bar… shop and a small, really rustic little booth on every corner selling sweets, crisps, ice creams and offering to charge your mobile phone. It's like someone has uprooted the school tuck shop and placed it on 'Calle Sagunto'.

As it happens, I will have to move from Calle Sagunto, due to my current housemate, who rents our apartment, moving out to the coast, where the population is approximately 64% cockney. Duquesa is the part of the Costa del Sol, where a lot of Gibraltarian employees live due to the even cheaper cost of living. I move into a three-bedroom apartment overlooking the beach next week, and we'll pay €350 rent each a month. The bills are cheaper again - something like €30 a month. So that; around £300 to live, and with €1.50 being the cost of a decent bit of local plonk, the allure of alcoholism is an all-too-serious threat.

Thankfully, all my disposable income will be invested on my first love - no, not a Spanish local woman by the name of Sofia, (although don’t rule anything out) but instead Cheltenham. This extra dosh means I can live the dream and pad the ante post portfolio and aim to break the bank come March.

Until we hit the proverbial jackpot, I shall remain grinding it out at HQ, in my current job of being an 'Online Content Co-ordinator'. Apparently, being a punter myself and someone who actively uses other sites and companies, I've been scouted out as knowing what the average person using the site wants to see. As such, the plus side is I get a huge amount of autonomy in terms of what goes on the site, and what promotions and offers are given priority. It is quite liberating in all honesty, and quite a contrast to how I felt in my first week, when I thought the job was about as productive as studying A level 'General Studies' back in the glorious days at Greenhead College.

In a team of four, we dictate what banners, coupons and promotions go on the website and the related pages. For a website that does the majority of its trade through bets placed on the site itself, it is a rather satisfying feeling. It is however in all honesty something of a stepping stone in the grand scheme of things, and in the JJMSports five year plan, but it is a nice stepping stone, almost a lily pad if you will. And yes, this time next year, we will be millionaires.
