The primary features of Andy's work involve having a systematic and precise approach to the print schedules and the outcomes of work prepared for the presses and guillotines.
Andy is a production planning coordinator and works for Horner Brothers Print Group in Rotherham.
I studied for an NVQ level 3 in graphic design and an NVQ level 3 in machine printing at Barnsely College. I was always interested in art and design and the presentation of print materials.
By working through the information associated with apprenticeships in printing, I was self-directed in the company. I have held my current role for over five years and shall be taking a day release course an NVQ level 3 in process improvement.
The primary features of my work involve having a systematic and precise approach to the print schedules and the outcomes of work prepared for the presses and guillotines. They also include maintaining a high level of awareness of customer needs, so that instructions to meet their requirements can be transmitted quickly in order to reach deadlines in due course.
For me, incentive-led wages are a secondary concern, as I gain intrinsic pleasure from producing materials, which are printed by my firm. So much of my skill lies in fast reaction to the requirements of the customers who need to obtain printed materials and packaging according to their own specifications.
