Some examples of UCLan's links with industry
There are opportunities to take up innovative and live links with industry through our Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme, where students work on real projects for companies, with the academic support of UCLan to guide them.
Internationally renowned companies such as BAE Systems choose to work with the Applied Digital Signal and Image Processing (ADSIP) Centre, based within the Faculty of Technology, making it the most active Centre in the UK for aerospace non-destructive testing.
The University has the largest non-medical stroke research unit in the country and the only nursing Professor of Stroke Care in the UK.
The International Football Institute (IFI) represents a partnership between UCLan and the National Football Museum based in Preston, and has been designed to promote the study and development of football within a global context through research, consultancy and higher education provision.
Support
Our student support is second to none and includes a student information centre, the 'i', whose experienced staff deal with booking of appointments for specialists such as careers, counselling, financial or academic advice.
They also offer international student advice including visas.
Our Careers Service offers support to all students and recent graduates and our Counselling Service is professional and confidential, staffed by qualified and experienced counsellors.
