Amazing career awaits

To qualify as an ACA chartered accountant, you will need to complete a training contract with an ICAEW authorised training employer. There are more than 2,200 training offices of all sizes in the UK and internationally where you can train.

Employers will expect students to possess a proven academic track record, in addition to a degree from a recognised UK university, or international equivalent. You don’t even need to have studied Accountancy at University or have a maths A-level to become an ACA. Only 11% of ACA students come from an accounting degree, many come from disciplines such as Law, Engineering or Management. For those with accountancy or business degrees, credits may be available for some of the Professional Stage modules, you can look on the website to find out which credits you are eligible for.

The opportunities are endless as an ACA, you can progress within your employers organisation, move into any sector of business or even start up your own business. There really is no other financially-based business qualification that offers such a wide variety of opportunities.

Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business

The Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) from the ICAEW is aimed at aspiring business and finance professionals looking to undertake a rigorous, industry benchmarked qualification, as well as providing a staging post for those considering the full ACA. There are no specific entry requirements to be eligible to study for CFAB. The modules of CFAB directly reflect the knowledge modules of the ACA, so once you have completed CFAB you will be eligible for credits from some ACA modules. All assessments are computer based, with learning undertaken either through self-study class-room tuition or through distance learning via a tuition provider, often in less than 12 months.
