Job description

EWOS Ltd. currently have a vacancy within the QA Department at their production unit at Westfield, near Bathgate in West Lothian.

This post is suited to a recent graduate, or a recently qualified technician, with first degree, or diploma qualification, in Chemistry, or equivalent.
The successful applicant will receive full training on key job functions. In addition, essential attributes for the position are a systematic approach with attention to detail.
The principal duties :

* Daily collection, auditing, and processing of QA documents
* Sampling and testing of raw materials and feed
* Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
* Data consolidation, presentation, and analysis
* Development of in-house measurement techniques
* Dialogue with external analytical service providers.
* Conduction of internal technical investigations

Hours of work : 9 - 5 pm, Monday - Friday

The EWOS group of companies (www.ewos.com) manufactures feed for the salmon farming industry worldwide. EWOS Ltd. has a 25 year history of manufacturing of feed for the Scottish salmon farming industry.

Skills and qualities

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with data collection and analysis, and should have strong IT skills.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be working in a commercial production-scale environment. Good inter-personnel skills will therefore be essential when contributing to a small multi-disciplinary team.
A 'hands-on' approach is necessary in both sampling of feed and carrying out tests.

Location

It is essential that the applicant has access to their own transport.
