Gill was born and brought up in South Wales but has now been on the other side of Offas Dyke for more years than she cares to remember. She took a degree in English at Liverpool University, followed by a spell working at the Royal Academy of Arts. She returned to the north of England to take her Diploma in Careers Guidance in Newcastle at what is now Northumbria University.
Since 1995, Gill has worked two days a week as a careers adviser in various universities in the London area. This has seen her based all over the capital and even taking on an international remit with some flying visits to the University of London in Paris. For the rest of her working week, she is a freelance careers consultant, teacher, trainer, researcher, assessor and writer. She has been an E-guidance consultant with Graduate Prospects since 2002.
Gill has a background in working with creative students in e.g. art, design and drama. Variety being the spice of life, her other specialisms are law, all aspects of the media, self employment, teaching and sports studies.
She has co written three careers books, plus articles too numerous to mention on subjects from Art to Waste Management. She is also a regular contributor to careers websites and radio and TV programmes. Her big unfulfilled ambition is to get a novel in print. She is the proud possessor of rejection slips from several major publishing houses.
