
Originally from the north west but now based in London, Margaret has been a careers consultant for many years, the last 15 of which have been at a university in central London. Her current subject specialisms include: business and IT, engineering sciences including mechanical, telecommunications, engineering design and building services engineering, health and humanities. Margaret is also currently on the Careers Panel of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering.
A particular interest of Margarets is mature graduates and for 4 years, she was chair of a national group of higher education careers advisers supporting the work of colleagues with older students and graduates and promoting the benefits of mature applicants in the graduate job market.
Prior to her current role, Margaret worked as careers adviser for the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, travelling round the universities promoting the career of a chartered secretary to undergraduates.
As a careers consultant for Graduate Prospects, Margaret provides careers advisory services to recent graduates including CV evaluations and 121 online consultations. She has written several pieces for the Independents Postgrad Query column and articles for the National Student, Real World Magazine and various Prospects publications as well as providing detailed research for an article in the Daily Mail.
Margaret is also qualified to deliver and interpret a range of psychometric tests and assessments including the Hogan Personality Inventory.
