Birmingham City Business School at Birmingham City University is home to around 3,000 students drawn from over 80 countries. Students study a wide range of programmes all designed to provide the academic knowledge and practical skills and capabilities needed to make steps in developing a successful career in today's highly competitive business environment.

There is approximately 100 full-time members of academic staff as well as a significant number of associates who regularly contribute insights drawn from their commercial and professional experiences to the delivery of the Business School's programmes, which all help to make the academic experience as enriching as possible.

Specialist Centres

As well as academic departments, Birmingham City Business School also contains three specialist centres.  Each of the centres concentrates on particular expertise and knowledge.

Centre for Leadership and Management Practice and the Academy of Multi-Unit Leadership

The Centre for Leadership and Management Practice and the Academy of Multi-Unit Leadership concentrates on management education and research.  The staff are dedicated to innovation in the practice of management education, leading to innovative new approaches to organisational management practice.  One of the activities undertaken by the centre and the academy, is to work closely with outside organisations to deliver bespoke training programmes at a postgraduate level, including Masters programmes in Leadership and Strategy, as well as in-company BA degrees in Leadership and Management Practice.

Centre for Internal Audit, Governance and Risk Management

The Centre for Internal Audit, Governance and Risk Management is a market-leading academic, research and training institution, and it is a recognised school with the Institute of Internal Auditors Education Programme (IAEP).  Established in 1990, it has a reputation for student and employer engagement that has helped it deliver the highest pass rates in the UK for first time entrants to the Institute of Internal Auditors Diploma examinations with over 90% of students passing examinations or gaining exemption at their first attempt.

Centre for Business Innovation and Enterprise

The Centre for Business Innovation and Enterprise conducts world-class research work for both industry and government funding bodies, throughout the UK and abroad.  The centre's mission is to maintain its pre-eminent position as the leading centre of excellence for business innovation and enterprise and to preserve the invaluable bond that already exists between the centre and global business.
