Taught Masters programmes

Our taught MSc programmes comprise a maximum ten taught modules delivered by university academics and visiting industry experts, followed by a four-five month research project and thesis - often industry-based, providing students with the opportunity to make contact with prospective employers before even completing their degree. Some MSc programmes also comprise a three month group project. The practical nature of our MSc programmes enable students to apply the knowledge gained from taught elements of the course and also develop transferable skills including communication, presentation and project management.

All taught MSc programmes are available on a full and part-time basis - offering flexibility and support for those who wish to study whilst remaining in employment.

State-of-the-art facilities

In 2008 part of a £30 million investment by the University saw the development of a new purpose-built home for Cranfield Health.  The building houses brand new state-of-the-art laboratories and teaching facilities.

The building has been designed around an open philosophy where staff and students work together in a large open-plan laboratory and office complex.

Career opportunities

93% of Cranfield students are engaged in relevant work or research within six months of graduation.

Our graduates are sought after by top employers from around the world - in industry and commerce, government and academia. Many of our graduates have gone onto work at prestigious biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, Clinical Research Organisations and Government agencies. Several Masters graduates have also undertaken a PhD at Cranfield or another University.

What our students say

"After graduating from BSc Biochemistry, I was keen to study further and broaden my knowledge. Medical Diagnostics MSc was a unique course which introduced me to new topics and enabled me to gain a wider insight into the field of diagnostics. I carried out my thesis project at the company I am now working in. By being introduced to the VLA through Cranfield University I was able to begin my career straight after finishing my course."

Amanda Hanna
Medical Diagnostics MSc
"My primary reason for choosing Cranfield was the opportunity to gain experience in industry, and also meet potential future employers. With Cranfield being one of the top five research intensive universities in the UK this only reaffirmed my decision to undertake my postgraduate studies here. My MSc aided me in securing an entry-level position at a highly prestigious pharmaceutical company, a rarity for a graduate with limited industrial experience."

Dominic Lim
Translational Medicine MSc
