All full-time students become a member of one of the University's colleges. The collegiate system is a major part of the Durham experience, with the colleges offering social and sports facilities and the opportunity to mix with postgraduate students from other departments across the University.

Our programmes

The Durham MBA

The MBA has become the minimum qualification for senior managers and business leaders. As such the quality and reputation of your MBA must distinguish you from others. The Durham MBA has a long and successful history and comes from a highly regarded international business school. The Durham MBA will set you apart.

There are three stages:

• Seven core modules
• Five electives chosen from a wide selection, allowing you to tailor your MBA to a particular specialism or take a more generalist route
• Business project

The programme is available in a number of delivery options: full-time, part-time or flexible study.

Masters programmes

A Durham Masters aims to give you a head start in your career by providing you with both general and specialist management knowledge that can be applied in a wide range of organisational settings, and a skills toolkit much valued by employers. Together, these optimise your changes of an accelerated career path by becoming a more knowledgeable practitioner.

Economics and finance related

The Durham MSc degrees are perfect if your career choice lies in the financial sector. Core modules provide a rigorous treatment of the theory of finance and the econometric techniques necessary to understand the literature and undertake empirical investigations in the area of finance, and optional modules offer you a broader perspective on the subject matter and allow you to specialise in those areas of finance that are of particular interest to you.

The granting of partnership status with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Institute is testament to the practical content and relevance to industry of the Durham MSc portfolio.

Marketing and management related

The one-year, full-time MSc Management programmes are generalist career entry degrees designed to develop the skills and knowledge that employers demand.

Our Management programme is consistently ranked in the Financial Times Global Masters in Management survey. This achievement underlines the quality, relevance and academic rigour of the programme. In addition, our Marketing programmes are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and offers exemptions for successful students who wish to join.
