The joint Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences is one of the leading providers of health and social care training in the United Kingdom. We currently provide education and development for 5,500 students and offer postgraduate studies in the fields of Midwifery, Nursing, Radiography, Rehabilitation and Social Work.

Courses designed in partnership

We work closely with service users, the NHS and Social Care Service providers to continually develop our portfolio of courses. We have recently launched a new partnership with the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and we are playing a key role in the modernisation of clinical and academic research careers for London.

We have been commended in external quality reviews and are seen as being among the very best for interprofessional education, practice learning, clinical skills teaching and online learning. We are a preferred education provider for NHS London.

Choose the level of study most appropriate for you

Depending on the subject area, our study levels range from BA(Hons) top up to masters levels. Many of our course modules are offered on a standalone basis, allowing you to target and tailor your continuing professional development in the most appropriate areas for your work. You may also be able to obtain credit for prior learning and experience.

Integrate learning with your practice

We offer a range of flexible teaching methods including part-time, distance and work-based approaches to learning, allowing you to fit your work around your studies and develop areas specific to practice needs.

A vibrant research community

The Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences combines the research expertise and resources of a modern university with those of an established medical school.  We are closely involved with the development of the Interprofessional Institute - a new south-west London centre for interprofessional developments in health and social care research, education and practice and the Health Innovation and Education Cluster (HIEC)

In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 70% of our research was judged to be internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour, and of that, 15% was considered world leading.

Campuses in the heart of South West London

The Faculty operates from three sites, Kingston University's Kingston Hill and Penrhyn Road Campuses and St George's, University of London's Tooting base. Students are able to benefit from the learning and teaching facilities of both institutions.
