Introduction to Kingston Business School
One of the largest business schools in the UK, Kingston Business School is a long established and leading provider of management and business education for business professionals at all stages in their career.
The Faculty of Business and Law at Kingston has been at the forefront of excellence since it was formed in 1984. It combines the Business School and the Law School, both of which can trace their roots to the 60s. We run some of the longest established business and law courses in the UK. Our mission is to provide and unlock opportunities in business, management and the law and we do this by:
- Offering a comprehensive set of courses with an absolute dedication to student achievement and relevance;
- Pursuing world-class research which has impact on our stakeholders;
- Constantly engaging and interacting with practice to shape, inform and evaluate what we do.
Each of these three ingredients is embedded in what we do. On the research front, we collaborate with researchers and organisations across the world to study and develop new and influential ideas. Our partners and collaborations include large multinationals corporations, but also small business, the not for profit sector (such as museums), non-governmental organisations (including the OECD), United Nations bodies and governments throughout the world as well as at national and regional levels.

Our commitment to research is illustrated by the School's excellent results in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).
In the 2008 RAE, the Business School's research output was very highly rated, with 90 percent of submitted research being of a quality that is 'recognised internationally' or better in terms of originality, significance and rigour. Of this, 10 percent was classified as 'world leading' and 35 percent as 'internationally excellent'. This result puts research undertaken in the Business School as joint 35th in the league table of 90 submissions, and places it as the top post-1992 university in terms of research quality.
