Loughborough is a great place to study, boasting internationally acclaimed research and outstanding teaching quality. These attributes helped us to secure the prestigious Sunday Times University of the Year 2008-2009 and Loughborough has been voted the UK’s Best Student Experience an amazing six times in the Times Higher Education poll. Loughborough University campus is one of the largest single-site campuses in Europe, boasting over 430 acres in the beautiful English countryside and recently voted by current students to be amongst the Top 3 campuses in the UK. Excellent student accommodation is available both on and off campus for students coming from outside the area.

At the heart of our self-contained campus is perhaps the most active Students Union in the country, as well as an English Language Study Centre, Careers Service, Counselling Service and excellent research and learning resources, providing one of the best student support networks of any university.

With easy access from the M1, Nottingham East Midlands Airport and Midlands Rail (both Birmingham and London are only 90 minutes train ride away), Loughborough’s central location provides convenient national and international travel links, while also making it a great base for exploring the midlands. Loughborough, itself, is a thriving market town, boasting a range of shops, bars and eateries, from well-known high street names to smaller independent and specialist outlets.  Night-life centres around the busy Students Union and Loughborough’s own pubs and clubs, but close proximity to Nottingham, Derby and Leicester puts city lights within easy reach.

Loughborough University, of course, continues to make a strong contribution to sport and exercise in the UK, not only in terms of the famous elite athletes who have studied and trained here, but also as a centre of excellence and innovation in coaching, sports technology and research in the psychological, social and biological sciences.
