Our Executive MBA programme is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and we offer professionally-accredited MSc courses and research degrees that cover all the main business disciplines, including:

Funding and scholarships

We are delighted to offer scholarships for our MSc and Executive MBA programmes. Brief details are provided below and you are advised to visit our website for more details.

MSc Scholarships

There are 12 scholarships for 2013 entry - six full-time scholarships (£1,000 each) and six part-time scholarships (£500 each). The scholarships are available to UK, EU and international students and we welcome applications from a broad-cross section of people, including final year students, graduates, managers, senior professionals, and members and veterans of the armed forces.

The closing dates are: 30 June 2013 (full-time scholarships) and 12 August 2013 (part-time scholarships).

Postgraduate Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships

These prestigious awards are worth £3,000 and are available to international applicants who want to study an MSc.

Executive MBA scholarships and free iPad

Our Executive MBA is very competitively priced with an inclusive £16,000 tuition fee and the Business School funds two Executive MBA scholarship schemes:

• Executive MBA Scholarships (up to £2,000)
• The Executive MBA Referral Scholarship (£2,000) is available to friends, relatives, work colleagues or contacts of our current Executive MBA students or MBA alumni of Manchester Metropolitan University.

In addition, all new Executive MBA students will receive a free iPad.

Study Environment

For each of our full-time and part-time programmes we offer an integrated study timetable that blends lectures and seminars in Manchester city centre with an online learning  environment that you can access from home or whilst you are on the move.

Lectures focus on adding to your knowledge whilst seminar discussions enable you to share best practice, build your network of contacts, learn from others, and develop different perspectives and approaches. Assignments are work-related and can be tailored to address particular issues in your organisation.

Selected programmes, such as our AMBA-accredited Executive MBA, also include guest lectures, study visits, management development residentials and an international study tour.

Teaching Staff

Our teaching teams are highly skilled, publish widely in their chosen disciplines and have considerable academic and professional experience. Many of our programmes regularly include guest lectures from practitioners and senior managers from a range of companies and organisations who come in to discuss pertinent strategic and operational issues.

Research Degrees

MPhil and PhD students receive guidance from experienced academics in our Research Institute for Business and Management, which has six specialist research groups:

• Economics
• Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour
• Marketing and Retail
• Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Business

We are a member of the ESRC-funded Northern Advanced Research Training Initiative, which brings together 14 universities from across the North of England. Our doctoral students use this network to develop their research contacts, liaise with peers and attend seminars and research training events. We are also an active member of EDAMBA (European Doctoral Association for Management and Business Administration) and each year, doctoral candidates can apply competitively for places on the acclaimed EDAMBA summer schools.
