About Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine
Throughout our 30-year history, providing an exceptional veterinary education to our students has become a distinctive hallmark of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM). An internationally accredited veterinary program focused on educating tomorrow's leaders and discoverers in veterinary medicine, RUSVM is dedicated to providing academic excellence for our students as the foundation for becoming sought-after, practice-ready veterinarians. Students benefit from an accelerated program of seven semesters of integrated pre-clinical and clinical studies in our modern campus facilities in St. Kitts, and a further year of clinical training at our affiliated veterinary hospitals in the United States, which are soon to be extended internationally.
In addition to being accredited by the St. Christopher & Nevis Accreditation Board Ministry of Education to offer the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree program, RUSVM has the distinction of being accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA-COE). RUSVM's Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), where students learn critical hands-on skills, is the first hospital outside of North America to be accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Students actively participate with VTH general clinicians and clinical faculty specialists in many phases of patient care.
RUSVM's acclaimed veterinary program is supported by distinguished faculty and dedicated staff to help our students succeed. We seek to embed within each and every student a deep knowledge of professional skills-essential for any of the many and varied career choices they will be privileged to make with a veterinary degree. Our teaching ethos is student-focused, with an emphasis on gaining practical experience early in the program to integrate the relevance of basic science with clinical practice. Our curriculum aims to develop tomorrow's veterinarians by utilizing first-rate, modern technology to enhance clinical skills training. The educational program is further strengthened through student involvement in our international research initiatives, which focus on One Health in tropical and developing countries.
Making the decision to pursue a career as a veterinarian and attend veterinary school is a major financial commitment. RUSVM is committed to preventing financial concerns from keeping any student from pursuing his or her dreams by maintaining a competitive tuition and providing the support that enables students to obtain loans and cost-effective living arrangements. Our finance counselors can provide information on available loans for financing RUSVM tuition, fees and living expenses, as well as eligibility and application assistance. Students can begin their studies at RUSVM in the September, January or May semesters. For more information, click here |
