Researchers work on a variety of projects funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the health services. Research within the School is based around three themes: Management Science - provides focus for research in mathematical and soft systems modelling to address current problems in business risks, health management and operations management Accounting and Finance - undertakes research in empirical accounting and finance modelling to address current problems in financial markets, international banking, risk calibration, value-at-risk calibrating, accountability and governance in organisations, corporate social responsibility and reporting, taxation and audit, and related areas. Management - contains a broad diversity of seven sub-disciplines with extensive collaborative work both within the cluster and with other clusters. The cluster has a strong, but not exclusive, qualitative methodological orientation, complementing the quantitative orientation of the Management Science cluster.
