MSc programmes in Information Technology and Computing

Our University is situated on a modern campus in the historic city of Stirling, centred around a large loch in the 300 acre estate of the 18th century Airthrey Castle - “some of the most beautiful campus scenery in the world”. We extend a warm welcome to students from all countries - around 19 percent of our 11,000 students come from outside the UK, representing around 90 nationalities.

The University off ers three taught MSc programmes to cover a range of interests in Computing and related subjects:

The MSc in Information Technology and the MSc in Computing for Financial Markets are one year courses for graduates who have completed a non-IT degree, and who wish to enter the IT field.

The Information Technology course is concerned with the practical application of computers to Business generally, whereas the Computing for Financial Markets programme focuses on the application of computing technology in the financial sector. Graduates are able to off er a valuable mixture of applicable practical skills to prospective employers.

The MSc in Advanced Computing is a one year course for graduates who have already completed a computing degree. It offers a fl exible choice of modules to complement and extend a student's experience of computing, and students may specialise in one of the distinct streams, including eBusiness, Software Engineering, Computer Network Systems and Games Technologies.
