Company profile

A global leader in speciality chemicals, Croda is the name behind some of the world’s biggest brands providing practical, environmentally minded solutions to the problems of everyday life. In 33 countries, our employees work to improve a diverse range of markets - from personal and health care, to home care and plastics.

Croda’s European graduate programme offer Scientists (with a Chemistry bias) and Chemical and Process Engineers the opportunity to fulfil their potential in a challenging and rewarding environment. Each year we recruit between twelve to fifteen graduates. We are looking for graduates for our 2013 intake for the following programmes:

Chemical Engineering Development Programme
You will be involved in all aspects of the profession, ranging from basic research to plant commissioning. You will manage projects from the outset and be expected to accept responsibility quickly. For this programme you will need a Chemical or Process Engineering degree.

Graduate Development Programme
A great general overview of the business. We will tailor the programme to suit you but each graduate will complete three placements across our business functions (sales, marketing, technical, operations and business functions, for example safety or regulatory affairs). For this programme you will need a chemical engineering or chemistry related degree.

Technical Development Programme

For those graduates who are keen to develop their career within a laboratory environment. Scientists will be given immediate project responsibilities and can be based in one laboratory or across different placements. For this programme you will need a Chemistry related degree.

Each programme requires a 2.1 degree or above. Although not essential, all would benefit from European languages including French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and German. Language skills would give the opportunity to complete placements across Europe.

In the UK Croda operates at 7 locations near Hull, Goole, Staffordshire and Merseyside, resulting in many sites being commuter distance from major cities such as Leeds, York and Manchester. Croda has many International locations such as France, Spain, Germany Holland, USA, Singapore, Brazil, China & Japan.

As well as on-the-job training graduates will benefit from a five module residential training programme which focuses on developing personal and business skills.

Croda offer a competitive benefits package to all those on one of its three programmes. This incorporates a starting salary of approximately £25,750 for the Chemical Engineering Development Programme and approximately £22,400 for all other programmes, a final salary pension scheme, life assurance, 25 days paid holiday, share incentive plans plus a £3,000 relocation package
