Company profile

Hays plc is the leading global specialist recruiting group. We employ over 6,700 staff in 325 offices across 28 countries. Last year we placed 50,000 people in permanent jobs and nearly 300,000 in temporary positions. We are the world’s leading recruiting experts in qualified, professional and skilled work.

We work across 17 different specialist areas, from healthcare to telecoms, banking to construction and education to IT.

We operate across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Our recruiting experts deal with 150,000 CVs every month and more than 50,000 live jobs globally at any one time.

What makes us unique?
At Hays, we believe that the right job can transform a person’s life. And the right person can transform a business. This is the magic of recruiting, and it’s why we do what we do.
As the world’s leading recruiting experts in qualified, professional and skilled work, we power the world of work by providing expertise across a wide spectrum of industries and sectors and by truly understanding our clients and candidates - locally and globally. It is our unparalleled trusted consultancy service that helps our customers to achieve lasting impact and it’s what makes us different.

Every week more than a quarter of a million people visit our jobs portals to seek advice and look for opportunities. In today’s fast paced job market, we believe that it’s vital to look beyond simply skills and experience to find the right cultural fit.

That’s why we want the very best people to join our business as consultants - experts (or aspiring experts) - who are driven to help individuals, companies and industries to flourish.

Who we are looking for
You might not know what you want to be or do. You may have embarked on a career that simply isn’t you, or you may have recently graduated and are still trying to work out what that career should be.

There is no typical profile of a successful consultant at Hays. We employ people with diverse work and life experiences: from recent graduates across all disciplines through to highly trained sales people, engineers, accountants and lawyers.

However, there are certain qualities and competencies that are common amongst our most successful consultants: passion for their work, desire to build and share their expertise, determination to be the best, drive to exceed targets and commitment to deliver exceptional customer service.

There is no room for complacency in a sales environment. Your exceptional communication skills will hold you in good stead to build strong business relationships.

We often recruit the attitude and develop the skills
We are more interested in who you are and the attitude you bring to work every day. Recruitment is an incredibly demanding environment and the people who succeed are exceptionally motivated. Strength of character is what will ensure that you achieve your goals - you will need to be able to work under pressure, manage the most challenging workloads and respond proactively and positively to targets.

We invest in our people so they can provide the best expertise and knowledge for our clients and candidates.

Our Recruitment Process
As a global leader in specialist recruitment, we have developed many techniques for recruiting our own staff.

Once you have applied your application will follow a structured path :

  • An initial CV review to ensure your application meets our essential criteria
  • A competency based telephone interview.
  • An assessment centre and additional meeting with an operational manager.

Wherever possible, more than one person will be involved in the recruitment, interview and selection process.
