FAQs: Do employers have an age limit for work experience placements?

It is against the law for organisations to discriminate against people because of age, whether for employment or work experience. When applying for work experience opportunities it’s important to tailor your application in order to show that you have researched the company and that you are passionate about working there. As a mature student, make the most of highlighting any transferable skills acquired through previous employment. Employers will be pleased to know that you can contribute to their organisation as well as learn from them. For more information on age-related issues see equal opportunities.
