FAQs : Will a foundation degree satisfy the entry requirements for a PGCE?

The standard entry requirement for PGCE courses is an honours degree, so you would almost certainly need to take the additional top-up course to gain an honours degree level qualification before being accepted onto a PGCE course. However, individual initial teacher training (ITT) providers do have some autonomy in screening applicants for courses so if you have relevant previous experience it may be worth contacting the ITT admissions tutors first. It is more likely that entry to the latter stages of a BEd would be the next step for a foundation degree graduate.
