Great work experience is the best way to set yourself apart from the crowd, and an international placement helps you stand out even more.
With upwards of 333,000 students graduating this year with high quality degrees, what can you do to stand out? In an increasingly globalised world, the answer is pretty clear: internationalise.

As more companies take advantage of rich opportunities abroad, they look increasingly to recruit staff with international exposure. If you can prove to them that your ‘international experience’ is more than just backpacking, your CV will start to shine. Have you considered working in China?
China has weathered the global recession better than most and is one of the UK’s most important trading partners. As China’s private sector expands, there are plenty of opportunities to gain work experience in your field. You’ll gain transferable skills – flexibility, negotiation skills across a multicultural team, and the ability to work in a new environment with a completely different set of rules
CRCC Asia offer one or two-month internships in China across many sectors – you can choose your own sector and we will match you with a suitable company.
If you are selected for the program, we will prepare you for your work placement in China. You will begin with an Induction Day consisting of various seminars that are designed to help minimize any culture shock you may experience in your new work environment.
These seminars include Chinese business etiquette training, which teaches you how business is conducted in China, and explains how you can build good relationships with your new supervisor and colleagues.
You will also receive basic Mandarin tuition so that you can introduce yourself, politely address your colleagues, correctly pronounce people’s names and place names, as well as numbers and basic terminology used for shopping and daily activities. (Your internship itself is in English). The day will draw to a close with a Welcome Banquet at a traditional Chinese restaurant with your fellow interns.
What can you do to stand out? In an increasingly globalised world, the answer is pretty clear: internationalise.
The following week, you will be escorted to your respective company where you will be formally introduced to your supervisor and work will begin. Interns’ tasks will vary between industry sectors and even companies.
Generally, you will be asked to conduct in-depth research drawing on your knowledge of the industry, allowing you to gain experience with new sources or methods of research. You may be asked to prepare a presentation to put forward your research to your supervisor.
Our partner companies may take you to client meetings giving you firsthand experience of client relations and relationship management in China. Living and working in Beijing will help you to gain invaluable insight and understanding of Chinese business culture.
An international placement demonstrates that you have the qualities employers most look for, such as ambition, flexibility, motivation, and the ability to work in an international team. International work experience will also help you to develop more effective communication skills and self-confidence.
Our internships give you the chance to apply some of the knowledge and skills you have gained so far to the business world, and enhance many other transferable skills you have developed during your degree. Coupled with the chance to learn some words of Mandarin, the world’s most widely spoken language, you’ll surely set yourself far apart from the crowd.
