MRes: Steel Training Research and Innovation Project (STRIP)
Award details
The Steel Training Research and Innovation Partnership - STRIP is a Swansea University, College of Engineering led project to train high calibre people in metallurgy, corrosion, coatings, manufacturing and mechanical properties. The MRes is a master's qualification involving taught courses and a 10 month research project with a partnering company that will aim to solve a very real and relevant problem. A number of projects will support SPECIFIC (www.specific.eu.com), which aims to turn buildings into power stations using functional coatings. You will develop coatings that collect solar energy, store energy and release it in a controlled way. This represents a great opportunity for people looking to gain a post graduate qualification, industrial contact and receive a tax free bursary, as well as contribute to the aim of reducing CO2 emissions in the UK.
