Just 175 years ago, the benefits of a university education in England were restricted to men who were members of the Church of England; University College London (UCL) was founded to challenge that discrimination. UCL was the first university to be established in England after Oxford and Cambridge, providing a progressive alternative to those institutions social exclusivity, religious restrictions and academic constraints. UCL is the largest of over 50 colleges and institutes that make up the federal University of London.

Eligibility
Applicants should be United Kingdom or European Union students. Overseas students who can apply the balance of fees to the higher rate, including those receiving an Overseas Research Students award for this purpose.
