Job description

Trainees spend six months in four of the firm's key practice areas, getting lots of responsibility and challenge on complex international work. We discuss your seat choices with you and do our best to accommodate your preferences. We believe you learn best by doing but underpin this with the right support and guidance. We offer excellent training with high-quality work in a more personal and supportive environment. Many of our partners are recognised experts in their fields and you'll learn a great deal, working alongside them. You'll be supported by your supervisor, but there's also support from the trainee recruitment team, trainee partners and mentors.

During your training there may also be opportunities for secondments, primarily to clients and, from time-to-time, our international offices. Our tailored training programme supports your development so you are equipped with the technical skills, knowledge and experience that will help make you into a great commercial lawyer. Our aim is always to retain the trainees we recruit, we view them as the partners of the future.

We also offer summer placement schemes and open days, please check our website for more details: www.trainee.edwardswildman.com.

Person requirements

We are looking for intellectually able, engaging and motivated individuals with lots of drive and initiative. Excellent communication and teamworking skills plus bags of common sense are also key. Great analytical skills and a rigorous approach are needed to provide sound commercial advice to our clients. You should also be adaptable, capable of thinking on your feet and relish solving complex problems. You'll evidence these skills and qualities through a wide range of academic, work and life experiences.

Qualification and experience requirements

Minimum 2.1 degree (or on course to achieve this) and 300 UCAS points (not including AS levels or General Studies)
