We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic, innovative and experienced Software Engineer to join a well established development team. The role will involve developing and supporting a range of high quality web based systems in an Agile environment. You will be involved with the whole software life-cycle from analysis, design, through to implementation, testing, roll-out and maintenance.

Essential requirements:

Extensive knowledge and working experience of:

  • The Spring Framework
  • Java /J2EE
  • Unit testing e.g. Junit
  • SQL Server and database design
  • Building web pages using Progressive Enhancement, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Open source technologies and tools
  • Version control systems e.g. CVS, Subversion
  • Object – oriented software design

Also:

  • A degree in a computing-related or a related science or engineering subject
  • Experience of having responsibility for the full lifecycle of the technical aspects of the software engineering lifecycle of web applications
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (Visa valid for at least 2 years)

Desirable requirements:

Hibernate or similar ORM tools

  • Knowledge of other programming languages e.g. C++, C#, ASP, PHP, Visual Basic
  • Experience of configuring Tomcat, Glassfish or similar J2EE web application servers
  • Knowledge of Selenium Web Driver test software
  • Experience of SCRUM/Agile
  • A knowledge of the Graduate recruitment industry
