British Sugar is the UK’s leading sugar supplier to food and drink manufacturers in the UK and Europe, and with around 4,000 growers supplying its four factories, the business produces over 1 million tonnes of sugar.
Beyond sugar production there is a surprisingly diverse business to be discovered. Although sugar remains at the core of its operations, by using a highly integrated approach to manufacturing, they aim to transform all raw materials into sustainable products, from tomatoes to animal feed, electricity to bioethanol, making it a truly diverse and exciting business to work for.
Our business is not just about sugar, we have expanded the range of co-products we produce. These products include animal feed, soil conditioning and landscaping products, electricity and even tomatoes. We are also involved in the developing bioethanol industry and seed coating and enhancement technology.
British Sugar is a growing, diverse and highly complex business. Our culture is one of improvement and today’s graduates will provide the business with its senior managers of the future. The size of the workforce is relatively small, providing scope for graduates to make a visible impact.
