Job description

Cambridge Assessment is excited to be launching its first IT focused graduate programme.

The Programme

The programme will offer you the opportunity to work among experts in their field covering all aspects of IT in our Service Delivery and Development teams. You will gain experience of working on our Service Desk, Data Centre Operations, Technical Support, Application Testing, Software Development and Project Management. You will have a line manager and a buddy in each role, as well as a mentor to support you through your whole experience.

Cambridge Assessment will provide relevant training, both computer based and trainer-led, in technical skills as well as soft skills.

There will also be opportunities for work experience within the wider organisation, including the business operating divisions, during your tenure.

You will be asked to complete business orientated projects during the programme and present a final project to the Senior Management Team, thus increasing your exposure and enhancing your skills further.

The graduate programme runs for 18 months, is full time and during that time you will be an employee with full employee benefits including holiday and pension. At the end of the programme Cambridge Assessment will aim to employ you into a permanent role which suits your skills.

Person requirements

In 2013, the year of the graduate programme launch, we have opportunities for two high- calibre graduates. You will be the forerunners of this high profile programme within our organisation.

You will be energetic, curious, keen to learn and grow, ready for the challenge that starting in the workplace requires. You will have a burning interest in IT and be sure this is the area of specialism you wish to pursue. You will be open to all aspects of the programme, happy to try new things and ready to offer ideas and suggestions for improvement.

You will also have, or be predicted to achieve, a minimum higher second degree in a science, maths, computing or engineering discipline. You may have had some previous work experience which will help you to demonstrate your commitment to the role and provide examples of opportunities you have taken up.

You are likely to have interests outside of your academic qualification, preferably those involving other people, such as team activities.

You have Graduated / Graduating between 2011/2013
