Job description

Our rapidly growing Construction division are currently looking for two Assistant Surveyors for projects in and around London and the South East area.
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining appropriate records on the project and communicate commercial status of the tasks for which you are responsible
  • In all relevant areas, costs must be based on competitive quotations and control of expense should be meticulous
  • Assist with the following:
  • Valuation of the work carried out for the purpose of preparing the ETL accounts
  • Prepare and agree interim payment applications and final accounts
  • Maintain good cash flow and the timely receipt of payments from the Client
  • Prepare and negotiate claims for extensions of time and reimbursement of loss and expense
  • Close out projects promptly
  • Review risks at every stage of the construction process
  • Work to the established/standard commercial procedures
  • Supply chain element will require involvement with the procurement, management and settlement of final accounts in respect of external consultants (appointed by ETL) sub-contractors and specialist suppliers.

Person requirements

  • HNC or any relevant building or construction degree
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Self starter who pushes themselves to achieve stretching targets
  • Strong team player who can work effectively with both immediate team and wider ETL team.
