German speaking Graduate Manager - Buying Lidl UK Ltd

Job description

Our Head Office Buying department sources the best possible range of products at the most competitive prices for our network of UK stores.

You will begin in a store and a Regional Distribution Centre to familiarise yourself with our business operations and full product range.

Then you will join the Buying Team in Wimbledon, shadowing a Senior Buying Manager, picking up the valuable skills needed to succeed. Your training will cover all aspects of category management including range reviews, retail price positioning, product development & design and quality control as well as management of supplier relationships, sourcing of new suppliers and contract negotiation. You will be liaising with other members of the buying team, other departments and suppliers both in the UK and across Europe.

Person requirements

Dynamic with real entrepreneurial flair, you will involve yourself in high level negotiations, ultimately taking decisions that will impact directly on the success of each and every Lidl UK store.

You must have a minimum of 2:1 ideally in a Business Management or German Language degree and a full driving licence. You should be able to use sound judgement to make quick decisions, and leading from the front, you will easily adapt to the ever-changing environment. Ideally you will be fluent in both English and German, highly motivated and thriving in a fast paced office environment.
