Our two year scheme provides insight right across the core of the organisation, giving you a solid foundation upon which to build your future career with us. There will be guided and structured on-the-job learning, cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to work on projects with teams spread across the country. You’ll have a say in the placements we provide for you across the 2 years, knowing you will be making an active contribution to the ongoing success of our organisation.
To help you, you’ll have the support of your line manager, an assigned mentor and a junior-level buddy.
For the right person, the potential is there for running your own contract worth several million pounds within a few years. We are a multi-faceted company. Join our programme and you’ll see them all.
We’ll teach you what you need to know about our business, but you need to demonstrate your potential.
You’ll need to be able to think for yourself and have the confidence and skill to express yourself clearly and appropriately. You should be able to motivate others to work with you, as well as being able to make a positive contribution in a team environment.
As well as being commercially savvy, we need people who are genuinely able to relate to our clients and customers, building on our partnering ethos.
On a practical level, you should be able to plan and deliver projects and manage your time effectively. Clearly you’ll need a willingness to learn and the maturity to receive constructive feedback.
You should have the ability and flexibility to travel regularly in order to fully explore our organisation and a full UK driving licence is a must.
Mears today employs over 15,000 people in every region of the U.K. In partnership with our social housing clients, we maintain, repair and upgrade the homes of hundreds of thousands of people in communities from remote rural villages to large inner-city estates. Our care teams provide support to around 20,000 people a year and our care service is continually expanding to meet the increasing needs of our elderly population and other vulnerable people in our communities.
We focus on long term outcomes for people rather than short term solutions and invest in innovations that make a positive impact on people’s quality of life and on their communities’ social, economic and environmental wellbeing. Our approach is based on the development of outstanding partnerships with employees, clients, customers and the wider community.
The group has enjoyed rapid growth and significant success, none of which could have been achieved without the hard work, commitment and expertise of our employees.
For a September 2013 intake we are looking for applications from people on track to achieve at least a 2:1. A grounding in business management principles will be highly advantageous, whether this was the focus of your degree or a significant part of it.
We want applicants who can demonstrate the person requirements through their work and personal experience and achievements.
