Job description

The purpose of the Trainee Account Researcher role is to learn; about clients, their brands, the way the accounts work, in doing so developing knowledge of their client accounts and understanding their research needs. Day to day the Trainee Account Researcher will provide support across a number of accounts, starting to develop an understanding of research skills and gaining an appreciation of data analysis.

Performance Areas:

Advice and Consultancy

Builds awareness of brands, media, and communications

  • Gains a basic awareness and understanding of the research industry and it’s interaction with other sectors including Advertising, Marketing & Media.
  • Gains an awareness of relevant clients in order to support the team in delivering advice and consultancy. Specifically building knowledge of the client business; key client contacts/individuals and their needs; client brands and communications & client markets.
  • Works within an Account team to understand the client's "Central Question"
  • Builds relationships internally and externally to help the team deliver advice and consultancy.

Account Handling

Demonstrates basic account handling skills and supports on research design, implementation and delivery

  • Acts as liaison between the client and Millward Brown on project-related issues, with supervision.
  • Works closely with the account team to make the projects/accounts as successful as possible, specifically preparing relevant materials and keeping the teams fully briefed on progress.
  • Develops knowledge of account costs and monitoring job costs throughout a live project whilst ensuring profitability, under supervision.
  • Provides timely, adequate, clear and concise briefings to relevant parties.

Research Design & Delivery

Develops awareness and understanding of market research skills

  • Assists the Account team to produce a research design that will generate insight for the client
  • Develops knowledge of proposals, questionnaire design, data analysis & interpretation
  • Ensures that quality data tables are produced, checked and delivered
  • Acquires an understanding of how we turn our insights into action, working closely with internal teams to produce presentations/deliverables resulting in a memorable delivery of the evidence and insight to the client.

People & Organisation

  • Supports other team members in order to maximise team efficiency and promote & build good working relationships.
  • Builds awareness of wider MB initiatives and contributes to the MB organisation as a whole (initiatives, processes, team events, etc.)
  • Contributes with others to make a change (business or social) for the better on the account, within the team or for Millward Brown

Qualification and experience requirements

Degree 2.1 or 1.1

Languages

  • High degree of fluency (written and spoken) in English
  • Additional European languages an advantage
