Your days as a trainee will be varied, demanding and rewarding. You could find yourself drafting a commercial agreement; going to court to seek a high court injunction; or attending a meeting at an investment bank to agree the offer terms for a public takeover that will make headlines in the next issue of the Financial Times.
For more information about the training contracts we offer and the firm itself, please visit our website.
The personal qualities we look for in our trainees include common sense, a sharp intellect, independent thought, judgement and a good sense of humour.
To thrive here, you will also need enthusiasm, commitment, a willingness to accept responsibility and the ability to get on well with others.
Our trainees have the opportunity to go on secondment abroad during the second year of their training contract.
These secondments are either to one of our own offices or to one of the leading independent law firms we regularly work with.
Our work is intellectually demanding so the minimum standard we look for in our applicants is three strong A-levels (or equivalent) and either a good 2:1 or a 1st in your first degree. Proficiency in a foreign language is a bonus but not a requirement.
Our trainees come from a range of universities: it is the quality of the candidate, not your university, which is important to us. A law degree is not essential - approximately half of our trainees have not studied law at university.
All future trainees must study the LPC at BPP Law School in Holborn, London. Those who have not studied law will also be required to study the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP.
