Established in 1969, Cannock-based ATP is Europe's largest independent remanufacturer of automatic transmissions, torque converters, electronic control units and other related equipment for the major automobile manufacturers including Ford, Volvo, Jaguar-Land Rover, Chrysler-Fiat, Aston Martin, General Motors and Mitsubishi. ATP were globally recognised in 2013 as innovators in mechatronics, beating several larger organisations to be awarded the title of ‘Remanufacturer of the Year’ for its strong focus on advanced technologies and innovation. Staffordshire University has won many awards for its KTP projects, including ‘Business Leader of Tomorrow’ and Lord Stafford Awards as well as many industry awards for the work of its KTP Associates. Its School of Engineering has a wealth of expertise in the area of automotive engineering, currently offering under- and post- graduate awards in Automotive Engineering and Electronics as well as Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic and Mechanical Engineering.
