Job description

The successful candidates' role is to take initial instructions, undertake research, prepare legal documentation, consult and advise clients and undertake various business development tasks as required.

Two years, four seats and the attention, exposure and opportunity to maximise your learning and development; that’s what we offer the 16 trainees we take on each year. Because our training is not only structured and practical but highly personalised, you’ll be able to progress along a path that’s absolutely right for you.

Following a week’s intensive induction and a comprehensive post-induction programme that continues in your first seat, you’ll complete four seats, each six months long, across different practice groups. Whatever the practice, expect stimulating, cutting-edge projects. You could find yourself working on anything from a high-profile, multi-million pound financial litigation case to a groundbreaking M&A deal.

Working hours:
9.30 am - 5.30 pm
Start date: March 2015 or September 2015

Company information:

Join a full-service international law firm that’s ambitious, growing and delivering groundbreaking deals. For a firm of our size we are very international. We have a huge depth of international experience, clients across the world (some 60% are non-UK) and regularly advise on multi-jurisdictional transactions and disputes, offering clients commercially-focused advice and outstanding service no matter where in the world they operate.

Person requirements

Firstly we look for a quick intellect. As well as a predicted 2:1 in any discipline plus 320 UCAS points or equivalent, you’ll need strong analytical skills, sound judgment, imagination and meticulous attention to detail. Also vital are the communication skills to be persuasive and build rapport, plenty of drive and determination, plus a keen interest in business.

Candidates must demonstrate fluent spoken and written English language skills. Mandarin Chinese language skills are desirable.

Qualification and experience requirements

You will be degree educated, having either a law or non-law degree, with a predicted 2:1, plus 320 UCAS points or equivalent.

If you are a non law graduate you will need to complete the GDL. All future trainees will need to complete the LPC.

Funding for training

We offer financial assistance for LPC and GDL.

If you're still studying, we'll pick up the fees for your Graduate Diploma in Law and your Legal Practice Course at BPP law school London, and we offer maintenance awards of up to £6,000.

Benefits include subsidised membership of heath clubs, private health insurance, pension, dental health scheme, private GP services, critical illness cover, health screening, life assurance, season ticket loan, subsidised staff café, give as you earn, and 25 days paid holiday per year.
