Job description

The graduate programme is an exciting and invaluable development path to fast track individuals into an operational or specialist management career. The programme also offers first-class on-the-job training in a Head Office Environment and a series of learning sets designed to enhance your management and interpersonal skills.

The Business Development Graduate will play a key role in the team, its systems and strategy in accordance with business objectives. You will be involved in writing compelling bids, proposals, expressions of interest, presentations and pre-qualification questionnaires to secure new business, responding to tendering opportunities with the assistance of appropriate members of the senior management team (e.g. Operational, HR, H&S) and advise Senior Management of the risks and opportunities inherent in all proposals prior to submission.

Person requirements

It is absolutely essential that you have excellent written communication skills, with an interest in developing them to produce high quality, successful proposals. You will have sufficient IT skills to produce high quality documents; with competence in using Word, Excel and Powerpoint. You should be able to develop presentations creatively, articulate and deliver them confidently, using a variety of media, to persuade and influence others, making the business case for the company. You will have sufficient numeracy to understand the implications of project budgets and develop skills to draft budgets accurately and assess financial risks.

Accepted degree subjects – any.
However an excellent standard of writing and communication will be highly advantageous, whether this was the focus of your degree or a significant part of it. You must have, or expect to gain, either a First Class Honours degree or an upper second class degree. We want applicants who can demonstrate the person requirements through their work and personal experience and achievements.
