A scholarship for media students has been unveiled by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and Warner Bros. today, at the inauguration of its studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire 26/04/2013

The Prince William Scholarship in Film, Television and Games is designed to financially assist gifted people so they can study a postgraduate course in one of the three creative industries.

Each scholarship will provide up to £10,000 to cover course fees, an industry mentor, free access to BAFTA events in the UK and a funded placement within the Warner Bros. group of companies.

The partnership between the two household names is designed to secure future talent within the media sector.

Chief executive of BAFTA Amanda Berry OBE said, 'Working together, we can provide vital financial support and industry experience to individuals whose talents might otherwise be lost to our industry.

'BAFTA's president, His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge believes that everyone deserves a chance to shine and we are immensely proud he has chosen to be associated with this initiative, which builds upon the existing BAFTA scholarship programme.'

Josh Berger CBE, president and managing director of Warner Bros. UK, Ireland and Spain, said, 'To ensure continued success for the UK's creative industries, we're determined to play a key role in finding, funding and nurturing talent from all backgrounds.'

The deadline for applications is Monday 17 June 2013. To find out more, visit BAFTA - Prince William Scholarships .
