BT has returned to large-scale graduate recruitment and will offer up to 130 entry level positions for its 2011 intake.
The telecommunications company cut its graduate scheme last year in an attempt to save money during the economic downturn, but will return recruitment to normal levels this year.
Positions will be available in six different areas, including human resources, marketing and media, supply chain, legal, technical and business management.
The company has launched a new website to publicise its renewed commitment to graduate recruitment, with applications open for six months.
Martin Thomas, head of recruitment at BT, told Recruiter magazine that the number of positions available was higher than two years ago.
‘I think it is a positive that the economic situation has improved and we are able to invest even more in graduates,’ he told Recruiter.
The company had been criticised for withdrawing from the university milkround last year as it only employed around 20 new graduates.
There is no limit to when applicants graduated on the BT scheme, and successful candidates are expected to take up roles with the company in September 2011.
