Latest news: Business process jobs in Scotland

The business process outsourcing company Capita is set to create 100 jobs in Scotland at its contact centre in Moray. 23/11/2011

The new roles will help a major energy company’s customers to enquire about their bills, make payments and set-up direct debits and get refunds.

Recruitment will start in late November and Capita hopes to have all staff in place by February.

The London-based company provides back office administration and customer contact services to organisations in Britain, Ireland, the Channel Islands and India. Capita has around 45,000 employees worldwide at 350 sites.

‘When Capita was considering where to expand its contact centre operations it looked at a number of possible options. That it chose Moray is recognition of the exceptional customer service the local people of Moray deliver to our customers. Capita is proud to be associated with Moray and investing in Scotland,’ said local managing director, Bruce Macleod.

‘We are looking for talented individuals, who have a proven track record in quality customer service, to be part of the growth of an existing energy account, based in Strathcona House in Forres retail park, and can provide excellent opportunities for the right candidates.

‘Applicants should have the ability, drive and enthusiasm to work to targets and have a ‘people centred’ approach to customer service displaying empathy, understanding and professionalism,’ added Bruce.

The company has an annual turnover of nearly £3billion.

‘This jobs boost is clearly a vote of confidence in the commitment and capability of the existing Capita workforce in Forres, as well as a big economic boost for the town,’ said Forres MP, Angus Robertson.
