Latest news: Degree myths dispelled

Chief executive of Graduate Prospects, Mike Hill, explains the value of a degree in a supplement in The Independent, out today. 27/09/2012

Produced by independent publisher Mediaplanet, Graduate Employment, offers application tips and advice on doing an internship.

The supplement has been produced to shed some light on the reality of the graduate job market and help graduates to work out their next move.

Offering expert advice and real-life insight the supplement offers a realistic perspective on the labour market. Which as Mike points out 'really isn't all that bad and the long-term picture is a whole lot rosier'.

Figures that are sure to make graduates feel better include, 'the Office for National Statistics shows that graduates have earned an average of £12,000 a year more than non-graduates over the past decade'.

To help you on your way, we've recently updated the My Prospects portal on Prospects.ac.uk, so you can better manage your career, find jobs and get advice.
