Latest news: Diploma for sponsorship industry

The sponsorship industry has designed the ESA Diploma, the first professional qualification of its kind. 16/09/2011

The European Sponsorship Association (ESA) has launched the first ever diploma aimed at the sponsorship sector.

Primarily aimed at people already working in the industry, the diploma will run over six months from January 2012, being supported by online distance-learning platforms and tutorials.

The ESA diploma has been created by industry expert Peter Raymond, who will also be responsible for its day-to-day management. The online aspect will be managed by award-winning specialists Nelson Croom.

‘Since we announced that we would be launching this diploma, we have been very encouraged by the support and enthusiasm received from ESA members and the industry at large.  The diploma represents an important step for ESA in its quest to raise standards and develop a portfolio of professional development tools specifically designed for the sponsorship industry,’ said Karen Earl, ESA chairman.

‘It will be the first industry qualification for those working in, and wishing to work in, the industry.  Feedback indicates that ESA members welcome the diploma and that, over time, it will increasingly become a standard requirement for those operating in the industry,’ she added.

The qualification will provide detailed and modern introductions into all aspects of the sponsorship industry. Aimed firstly at managers and executives, it is broadly targeted at all sponsorship practitioners looking to enhance their knowledge of the industry. It is hoped that the programme will become the benchmark for professional development within the industry.

Candidates will be able to learn in their own time with the distance learning aspect of the project and evening seminars will be held regularly. Industry figureheads will give presentations on subjects relevant to the ongoing syllabus.
