Cable&Wireless Worldwide announces the opening of applications for its nationwide apprenticeship and graduate schemes.
Graduates and students now have the opportunity to help businesses around the globe connect and communicate as world leading telecommunications company, Cable&Wireless Worldwide, announces 26 positions across the UK on its apprenticeship and graduate schemes.
Twenty apprentices and six engineering graduates will join Cable&Wireless Worldwide’s 6,200 global colleagues, providing mission critical communications to customers including leading retailers and public sector bodies.
The C&W Worldwide Graduate Scheme for Telecommunications Engineers with Institute of Engineering Technology (IET) accredited degrees comprises four six-month technical placements within the organisation, including some overseas postings. Alongside this are technical, business and competency training courses. At the end of the scheme graduates are offered a permanent place with the company in one of the established technical areas of the business such as the sales, operations or core network design teams.
Kirsty Huntington, Graduate Recruitment Manager, Cable&Wireless Worldwide, comments, ‘This is a fantastic chance to kick-start a career in an exciting and innovative industry. These are intense and rewarding schemes for individuals willing to apply themselves, and they'll receive all the training, development, work shadowing and field-based experience they need. Successful candidates will be working with the very latest network and data hardware and software, and be involved in installing and maintaining our international network, which provides next-generation voice, data and application solutions for our corporate customers.
‘Our schemes offer the chance to see many different sides of our business and allow candidates to tackle some real-world problems early in their career. Candidates on the programme tell us they love the variety of our scheme, and our support as they progress towards their Chartered Engineer status.
‘The only way we can build great relationships with our customers and deliver our promises is through talented people. They're our most important investment and our key point of differentiation.’
Applications are now open for the 2011 scheme, with a closing date of Friday 28th January 2011.
