Amadeus, a leading UK catering firm, has announced plans to employ more than 1,000 people over the next 12 months. 01/07/2011
Both permanent and temporary positions will be advertised across the Midlands, London, Scotland and Surrey, including some senior management roles.
Part of event business The NEC Group, Amadeus recently secured a number of contracts for high-profile events such as the London 2012 Olympics and RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. It also won its 11th year catering for The Barclays Scottish Open golf championship in Inverness, which creates 100 seasonal jobs each year.
The multi-million pound contract to cater at Olympic Park North for the Olympic Games will create employment for hundreds of people in 2012. Most positions will be temporary but Amadeus has committed to hiring a percentage of the staff from the host boroughs in London.
Around 150 roles, plus senior management positions, will be on offer each season at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show after Amadeus successfully obtained a three-year contract for the UK’s second largest flower show.
‘It is a very testing time for thousands of people who are currently seeking job opportunities and we are pleased to be creating new roles as the growth in the number of UK vacancies has slowed,’ said Alyson Cawley, Amadeus managing director.
‘Our recent success securing major new clients has created this growth and we look forward to sustaining this as our business continues to grow,’ she added.
