Latest news: Google celebrates youth innovation

This week sees the last chance to enter Zeitgeist ‘Young Minds’, a competition delivered by youth engagement agency Livity in partnership with Google. 15/03/2012

The competition aims to find 10 young pioneers and ‘leaders of tomorrow’ from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa who are making a positive impact in the world through science, the arts, education, innovation or inspiration. The winners will take their place alongside the most prominent visionaries of today in London this May at Google Zeitgeist 2012.

Zeitgeist is Google’s annual European partner forum which is currently entering its seventh year. The meeting brings together more than 400 businesses and thought leaders from around Europe and is a great place for young visionaries to be heard.

Last year’s winner Sebastian Thiel said, ‘Zeitgeist was amazing. I learnt a lot from the great variation of speakers from different disciplines.’

Judges on the panel include UK digital champion Martha Lane Fox, social entrepreneur and hip hop artist Akala, award-winning inventor Emily Cummins, software developer and founder of metaLayer.com Jonathan Gosier and channel 4 news presenter Jon Snow.

To enter, upload a video no longer than 60 seconds to Zeitgeist Young Minds' Channel before 19 March 2012. Tell your story including what really matters to you and how you are making an impact. Winners will be announced on 1 April 2012.
