Latest news: Government invest in 55,000 jobs

 

Up to 55,000 high-valued jobs will be created as a result of a £200million government programme. 24/05/2012

The scheme is designed to help 26,000 UK businesses achieve their full potential.

GrowthAccelerator is available for companies with potential for rapid and sustainable growth. It will aim to identify company’s barriers to expansion and create ways to overcome them.

Secretary of state for business, Vince Cable, said, ‘The UK boasts vibrant, small and medium sized businesses that have the chance to become the household names of tomorrow. With targeted support we are giving entrepreneurs a fantastic opportunity to take their businesses forward to succeed both here and abroad.’

Mark Prisk, business and enterprise minister, said, ‘We want to make the UK the best place in the world to start and grow a business. Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of our economy and we are giving them the support they need to realise their potential.

As well as financial support, GrowthAccelerator will provide trusted business advice.

We are already creating a network of thousands of business mentors and will soon be launching a new £10million start-up loans scheme to give young people access to business advice and a small amount of capital,’ added Prisk.
