Latest news: Graduate auctions himself on eBay

A graduate who racked up 150 job applications without success has decided to place his services up for auction on eBay. 08/02/2012

Ross Laing is fed up at his lack of success and is offering an interview with himself to the highest bidder on eBay.

The 24-year old will donate all money raised from the stunt to charity and hopes that he will be able to secure a first interview since graduating from university with a degree in marketing management.

‘I felt like I had run out of conventional methods and the job sites were boring me. I wanted to cause a stir and hopefully access users that I wouldn’t normally be able to,’ he told the Edinburgh Evening News.

‘I hope that Edinburgh’s top businesses will bid for me. I also hope to impress some national companies and would be open to all offers. This is a really good cause and it gives me an opportunity to impress. If nothing else, a local Edinburgh charity will hopefully benefit from some cash,’ he added.

Like many graduates, Ross owes over £10,000 in student debt and is struggling to make an impression on employers during the recession.

Bids for Ross will start at 1p with users having until Saturday to make an offer. Currently, no bids have been made.
