Network Rail has more than 100 graduate places available on its new-look graduate scheme for 2013. 09/10/2012
There are now 40 places available on the general management scheme, which is double that of last year.
The company is highlighting the opportunity for mechanical and electrical engineering graduates and other positions exist in finance, information management, property, strategic planning, contracts and procurement and project management.
Sandwich placements are also on offer for the first time, with students joining the company on a years paid placement after the second year of their degree course.
Adrian Thomas, head of resourcing for Network Rail said, 'Where I think we’ll see a real win-win is the introduction of sandwich placements across the business. For undergraduates, getting that real commercial experience is invaluable to demonstrate your worth to potential employers, and we can showcase the rail sector as a great place to work.'
Mr Thomas continued, 'This is a growing sector which means we need more bright, commercially-focused people to help us deliver the massive programme of investment we have promised the British public. Graduates joining us will have a host of opportunities and career challenges.'
Undergraduates joining the company will be paid £17,000 for the duration of their year long sandwich placements and will be based in signal centres, stations or on major rail projects.
Applications should be submitted before the closing date of 17 December 2012. Further information on all graduate opportunities is available at Network Rail - Graduates .
