A former PGCE student has created a free downloadable survival guide for students starting teaching courses this September.
The PGCE Survival Guide has been edited by Tim Handley, a recent PGCE graduate from the University of East Anglia and is designed for both Primary and Secondary trainees.
The guide is available to download for free and provides trainee teachers with the practical tips and advice they need to get through their teacher training.
Graduate Tim decided to put together The PGCE Survival Guide, after completing his PGCE and remembering the anxiety he felt waiting for the course to start and looking for first-hand experience from people who had been there and done it.
The guide features contributions from over 100 teachers and has been 'crowd sourced' using content from the education community on twitter.
It contains information and advice on all aspects of teacher training including un-edited blog posts from trainee teachers and NQTs, over 250 tweets from the education community and a guide to some of the best education websites and online teaching tools.
Students can download the free from guide from PGCE Survival Guide.
